Well, get that camera ready for a video and pull out the pink to dress the part. Prime Video, along with Reese Witherspoon (the original Elle Woods), has put out a nationwide call for submissions to cast the main character in a "Legally Blonde" prequel series.
Witherspoon announced on her Instagram on Wednesday, Sept. 25, that the search was official: “Our search for the high school version of Elle Woods is officially ON!” Witherspoon wrote in the post. “With our friends @primevideo we’re making the casting process totally OPEN, so you can submit your auditions at the link in my bio… I’m SO excited to see all your fabulous takes on everyone’s favorite Gemini vegetarian!”
The casting application says the criteria call for a white female, 18+.
The casting site said: "A driven, natural-born leader who will always stop to straighten another woman’s crown. With Bel Air tastes and an allergy to social injustice, Elle’s magnetic personality brightens the world with confidence, vulnerability, and an earnestness that charms everyone around her. Coming of age in the 90s, Elle will encounter her first love and her first heartbreak, and she will find her moral convictions."
The series shoot runs from April to July 2025 in Vancouver, Canada.
Videos are due no later than Friday, Oct. 25.
